Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - With local Vote from Abroad volunteers offering free U.S. voter assistance in Puerto Vallarta yet again on Wednesday, October 24th, American citizens living in the Banderas Bay region have no excuse for not casting a vote in the November 6, 2018 mid-term elections.
There's a lot at stake so, Please, do everything in your power to affect the outcome of the fast approaching U.S. mid-term elections.
Volunteers will be in front of Daiquiri Dick's again next Wednesday, October 24th, to accept ballots for return to the U.S. and answer questions, from 10:30 to 2:30 pm. After that, voters will have to send ballots back through mail service outlets, which will take 8 to 10 days to deliver.
The Buck Stops Here
Don't fall for fake, fear mongering news! Some U.S. voters have attempted to blame others as the reason that they either are not registered or haven't received a ballot... but the "buck stops" with you, the voter.
Request for ballots can be rejected for:
• illegible handwriting
• missing information: id, address, witness
• a box not checked
• no signature or date
• bad contact information
Most local home election (LEO) are very helpful, especially when you speak to them in person and can find the issue with the registration immediately and ask you to resend or confirm some data. They are also available by email. Find My Election Official
Volunteers across Mexico have been working many hours to make it happen. Along with local organizations and US Embassy/Consulate personnel, Democrats Abroad volunteer members are doing all they can to support your right to vote.
Once you receive your ballot by email, cast your vote, and return a signed copy to your election official within 24 hours by email, Fax (if allowed), or via an express mail service to ensure it arrives before your state's deadline (typically November 6th, but differs by state).
DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE: If you already voted, great. But there is still time to contact family and friends in the U.S. to make sure they do too.
If you have questions and/or need help, email Info-Mexico(at)democratsabroad.org.
"Personal thanks to the many volunteers who have labored countless hours investigating the 50 states various requirements, completing forms, and helping folks figure out their unique issues. Their efforts have helped to make a real difference for all our voters." - Larry Pihl, DAMX Chair
And thanks to you, the voter, for taking part in one of the most important parts of being a good American citizen.
