Oktoberfest: Good Food, Good Deeds, Good Times

On November 12th, the Puerto Vallarta Navy League and Banderas Bay's American Legion Post 14 are hosting their annual Oktoberfest fundraiser at Hacienda Alemana on the South side of Puerto Vallarta. This event is a great way to kick-off the new season in a spirit of fun and service.
International Friendship Club Spanish Classes Resume

The IFC will resume its Spanish classes Tuesday and Thursday starting Nov 4th. Each of these days offers Intermediate I & II, as well as Advanced classes and a special Tourist Spanish for beginners or those that are looking for a quick refresher. Each class lasts one hour.

From November 20-22, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico will host the inaugural Mariachi PV Fest, an event designed to promote the tradition of Mariachi and Mexican culture on a local, national and international level, while supporting local charities and commemorating the Mexican Revolution.

Dog Saved on Vallarta Beach Sheds Light on Strays

Vancouver resident Kathryn Richardson was on vacation with her husband in Puerto Vallarta when they spotted a stray dog on the beach in front of the Barcelo Hotel. The dog had clearly not eaten in weeks, so she called the SPCA PV, and they picked up 'Sandy' the next morning.

As part of their Third Annual 'Pinktober' campaign, the Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta will be hosting a 5K 'run for the cause' on Sunday, October 19th at 8 am. The $290 pesos registration fees benefit Grupo Bennu, a non-profit organization that supports Banderas Bay area women with cancer.

As part of the city's 2014 World Tourism Day celebrations, a donation collection center for Hurricane Odile's victims in Los Cabos was installed in the Puerto Vallarta International Airport parking lot. Non-perishable foods and toiletry items are being collected for the next two weeks.
