In the week's episode of 'Living in Paradise,' we will look all the interesting people, places, and events that this Paradise we call Puerto Vallarta has to offer.
In late December, we attended the travel agent's party in El Tuito and talked with the host, who works for all of us bringing tourists to Puerto Vallarta. The travel agents got together to celebrate their accomplishments of 2010 and to plan for how they will bring more tourists to Vallarta in 2011! The guests enjoyed delicious food, music, local kids performing traditional dancing, and Mexican cowboys, or Charros.
The guests also got to see the first Raicilla of New Year made at the Hacienda el Divisadero and put to age for 21 days. Raicilla is a local beverage very similar to "mezcal" and Tequila. Making raicilla is a very unique process made by artisans with recipes passed down from generation to generation.
We were also invited to attend El Dorado's Restaurant, Bar, and Beach Club's New Year's Eve Party. People from all over the world, including Playboy Playmates came to Puerto Vallarta to Celebrate New Year's and to enjoy the sun drenched beaches of Vallarta, in exchange for their sub zero hometown temperatures. This year's party at El Dorado featured gourmet food to international DJ's that rocked into the early morning hours!
El Dorado featured a gourmet dinner of Prime Rib and Lobster while party-goers danced the night away with music from the world famous DJ Chema Dezarate, who is signed with the Paul Oakenfold record label. We also were able to talk with Stewart Haverlack, partner of El Dorado Restaurant, Bar, and Beach Club and see the rebirth of this legend after its renovation.
El Dorado has been reborn after almost 50 years of service to Puerto Vallarta. With a top of the line remodel, perfectly constructed palapas, state-of-the-art open kitchen, and the renowned food of Chef Juan Zuno, El Dorado has not let Puerto Vallarta down.
