Part 2: Finding the Right Property

It was now time to focus on searching for properties that fit the client's criteria. Zapher & Derick wanted an investment property with two bedrooms and two baths, near Puerto Vallarta's Downtown/Romantic Zone. It also had to be rentable, have fabulous views, great amenities and/or unique design features... a place where family and friends can enjoy, as well as a place for honeymooners. They were looking for either a resale or newly constructed property.

After an extensive search on our company website, with it's integrated MLS search, I was able to come up with some great options. I wanted to offer my clients a variety of properties with three completely different styles, architecture, views, amenities and location, and yet maintaining a close proximity to town and staying within their budget.

It was important that all selected properties looked their best. I contacted the individual sellers and their respective Home Owners' Associations, explaining to them our intention of filming at their property.

I asked that the properties be as immaculate as possible, adding a fresh coat of paint, lush plants and flowers, polishing the floors, etc. They were more than happy to accommodate us as they too were big fans of the show and realized the positive impact this could have on the value of their property and that of Puerto Vallarta. After all, millions around the world anxiously watch House Hunters and end up traveling to the show's featured city.

We have buyers. We have properties. We have to wait until January. Oy! Two months of anxiously waiting for the shoot to begin. What to do, what to do?
