2° Annual Close Up Vallarta May 1-5 2012

The 2nd edition of the Close Up Vallarta international video creation festival will take place from May 1-5, 2012. Teatro Vallarta will be the festival's main venue, with presentations at Los Arcos del Malecón, CUC University, Centro Cultural Cuale and Galería Haus Der Kunst.
Puerto Vallarta Sculptor Helps Beginners

Puerto Vallarta sculptor Jim Demetro recently held a beginners class in sculpting at La Cuiza Art Center on Isla Cuale. The seven-student class, which ran from March 26-30, was so extremely well received that Demetro will likely hold another one next high season.
Art Expo to Benefit Desembocada Ranchito

On March 30 Galería Vallarta will inaugurate an exhibition of paintings of dogs and cats by Collectivo Condensado. A portion of the proceeds from the silent auction and art sales will benefit Desemboca Ranchito, a civil association dedicated to caring for homeless animals.

Gallería Dante's last 'Meet the Artists' show of the season will be held this Friday, March 23rd. The show unites a trio from Guadalajara who represent three generations of artists that have collectively exhibited in Puerto Vallarta for more than 79 years.
