Studies have shown that there is strong evidence linking sleep apnea and hypertension. The prevalence of snoring and sleep apnea among individuals with high blood pressure is close to 40% and jumps to over 80% among individuals with drug-resistant hypertension.

SETAC Tests 403 Vallartenses on World AIDS Day

From November 30 through December 3, 2011, SETAC GLBT Community Center, in collaboration with COMUSIDA, Jalisco's Secretary of Health and Pitillal's City Hall, offered free HIV testing to Puerto Vallarta citizens. 403 people were tested, of which only 3 were reactive.

At the 2011 American Urological Association's annual meeting, a study was done on 870 men with an average age of 47.3 years. Researchers found that those men with erectile dysfunction were more than twice as likely to have sleep apnea than those without erectile dysfunction.
