Bengal Tiger Quintuplets Born in PV Zoo

Puerto Vallarta Zoo owners, Martin, Antonio and Alfredo Castañeda, proudly showed off their new additions - five rare Bengal tiger cubs born the day that Hurricane Jova threatened the region. The zoo's tiger breeding program is a success with more than 20 tigers born since 2010.

Due to the large number of people expected to attend the Pan American Games in Puerto Vallarta, the city's Municipal Traffic Branch announced that they will be closing some streets near the competition venues in order to safeguard event attendees and participants.

The XVI Pan American Games 2011 open water swimming competition will take place on October 22. The new venue will be the waters of Banderas Bay in front of the Malecón in downtown Puerto Vallarta. 36 male and female swimmers are expected to swim the competition's 10 km course.
