Open House and Reception for the Peter Gray Art Museum

 The Peter Gray Art Museum on the campus of Centro Universidad de la Costa (CUC) will hold a reception and open house on Friday, November 27 at 5 pm to honor recent donors to its extensive art collection. Everyone is invited to attend, free of charge.

 Friday the 13th turned out to be an auspicious day for the kids of Benito Juarez Primary School in El Remance as Chef Seth Cloutman and a small army of volunteers served a healthy lunch to 250 school children, as part of his Nuestra Huerta school garden project.

 The Puerto Vallarta Little League kicked off its second season this past weekend as all star teams traveled from Guadalajara, Arandas and Bahia de Banderas, Nayarit to join the Puerto Vallarta all-star team to compete in a four team "friendly tournament".

 Professional surfer and recipient of the 2007 John Kelly Environmental Achievement Award James Pribram traveled to Sayulita Mexico November 8-13th to educate students from The Costa Verde International School (CVIS) about the importance of preserving our ocean's and beaches.

SETAC Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center Opens in Puerto Vallarta

 The SETAC Gay, Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender Center has officially opened on the south side of Puerto Vallarta. To kick off events at the GLBT Center, the movie 'Jeffrey' will be playing on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 7 pm and Hans Christian King will be speaking on Friday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 pm.

OXXO Helping to Make Dreams Come True

 Becas Vallarta was chosen to be the recipients of OXXO's 'rounding up' program for August, September and October. The proceeds from the three months of redondear amounted to enough money to pay for a year's scholarship for 23 university students or 29 high school students or 100 Jr high students.
La Palapa to Open Becas Vallarta’s Season

 The first Becas Breakfast of the season will be held at La Palapa Restaurant on Los Muertos Beach at 9:30 am on Wednesday, November 18, 2009. Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance at the same low price as last year, $150 pesos per person.

PEACE & INEA Opening Doors to the Future

 On October 1st, nearly 200 people turned out to celebrate the successful conclusion of 12 weekly games of BINGO for Beans and Babies, which took place every Thursday night at Bite me! Beach Club on Los Muertos Beach, and raised a total of $147,997 pesos for Pasitos de Luz.

 The last BINGO for Beans and Babies, which took place on September 24th at Bite me! Beach Club, drew a record crowd of 79 people. Together we raised $10,440 pesos in support of Pasitos de Luz, surpassing our goal of $100,000 pesos and we still have the Oct 1st closing night party to go!

 We had such a wonderful time of communion at our Rosh HaShana dinner that the guests asked me to prepare a breaking of the fast dinner for Yom Kippur. Therefore, on September 28th as the sun sets I will be preparing a special meal in a hillside home overlooking downtown Vallarta.
