The 2010-2011 San Pancho Birding Season is pretty much over. Most migratory species have fledged, leaving only the resident or 'tropical' species, a few summer migrants such as Blue-black Grassquits and Sulphur-bellied Flycatchers and some late Laughing and Hermanns' Gulls.

On July 18, Puerto Vallarta city workers removed the protective mesh from the downtown area’s first two blocks, allowing access to pedestrians. With construction on schedule, unveiling the next three blocks is foreseen to take place within the next three weeks.

Vallarta Ecology Group Reforesting Rio Pitillal

On Sunday, July 17th, members of the Puerto Vallarta Ecology Group launched the next phase of reforestation of trees on the banks of the Rio Pitillal. Last year, 65 trees were planted, of which 39 have disappeared. The group expects to plant around 80 trees this year.
