The biggest news is of course the reopening of the bridge across the Ameca River to Nayarit state, on December 8th, only 3 months from the time the old bridge collapsed. This is great news for anyone going to the Riviera Nayarit, Punta Mita, Sayulita and all points north.

Río Ameca North-Bound Bridge Opens

At 8 am on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, Nayarit Governor Ney González officially opened traffic on the north-bound bridge over the Rio Ameca, which collapsed during heavy rains on August 31st. Original estimates suggested that the bridge would not be functional until March of 2011.

Though I've known for several years about the Sculpture Walks that Gary Thompson gives at 9:30 on Tuesday mornings, I never found the time to participate until recently - and I'm glad I did!
