At 3:00 am CDT on Sunday, slow-moving Hurricane Orlene evolved into a Category 4 hurricane located 195 km south-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, and moving north at 7 km/h. A Hurricane Warning is in effect for the Pacific coast of Mexico from San Blas to Mazatlan. A Hurricane Watch is in effect from Playa Perula to San Blas.
At 10:00 am CDT, Tropical Storm Orlene evolved into a Category 1 hurricane located 340 km south-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, and moving north at 7 km/h. A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for the Pacific coast from Playa Perula to San Blas. Orlene is expected to pass just west of Puerto Vallarta from 7 pm Sunday to 7 am Monday.
As of 4:00 pm on Friday, September 30, Tropical Storm Orlene was displaying maximum sustained winds of 100 km/h and was located 445 km south-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco. It is expected to strengthen to a category 1 hurricane early Saturday morning as it approaches the Mexican coast and continues to move northwestward.
Wyndham is opening another new all-inclusive resort in Mexico. The Wyndham Alltra Riviera Nayarit resort, which is scheduled to open on October 10, 2022, has 229 rooms in a family-friendly beachfront setting on Mexico’s Pacific coast, just north of Puerto Vallarta.
During the 2022 summer vacation period, which included July and August, the State of Jalisco received more than 12 billion pesos in revenue and approximately 5.7 million visitors. Jalisco’s premier beach destination, Puerto Vallarta, welcomed approximately 1 million visitors and revenues of 6,629,000 pesos.

Another earthquake of 5.8 magnitude struck in the central region of the Mexican Pacific at 3:17 this morning. This time, the quake's epicenter was off the coast of Colima, in the municipality of Tecomán. The aftershock shook the Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas region. Many citizens felt the earth tremble despite the early hour.
