Since opening the Garden’s gates in 2005, Vallarta Botanical Garden has won international accolades as a not-to-be missed highlight of any trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Recommended by Lonely Planet, National Geographic and Fodor’s Travel Guides, Vallarta Botanical Garden is 64 acres of highland mountain splendor, just 30 minutes south of Old Town Puerto Vallarta.

At Vallarta Botanical Garden, hundreds of collections of native tropical plants such as orchids, anthuriums, agaves as well as colorful flowering trees are to be found on meandering jungle pathways. Explore the Orchid Conservatory to learn the story about the native vanilla orchid, cacao (the chocolate plant), and coffee.

Swimming amongst the giant boulders in the crystalline spring-fed river within the garden ground is an unforgettable experience. See a real Mexican country kitchen where handmade tortillas are prepared in the traditional way to be served to you in the Garden’s famous Hacienda de Oro Restaurant. Vallarta Botanical Garden Bird and Nature Festival, Feb 25-27

Vallarta Botanical Garden has celebrated Mexican wildlife, its diversity, and its most prided flora species and birds with the remarkably successful Vallarta Bird and Nature Festival, attracting crowds of visitors and raising awareness regarding the importance of wildlife preservation. This year's Festival will be held February 25-27th.

Vallarta Botanical Garden Chocolate & Vanilla Festival

On January 23, 2022, Vallarta Botanical Garden will host a Festival celebrating two important plant species native to the rain forests of Mexico - Chocolate and Vanilla - and everyone is invited! Come enjoy tastings, live music, Folkloric Dance and more from 12 noon until 5:00 pm.

Noche de Los Muertos at the Vallarta Botanical Garden

On November 2, Vallarta Botanical Garden will host 'Noche de Los Muertos,' a party to celebrate Garden members. The evening includes the inauguration of the 'Los Angelitos de Mexico' art exhibit by David Allen Burns and Austin Young, a prehispanic dance show, a day of the dead altar, and an open bar with dinner.

Vallarta Botanical Garden Has a New Executive Director

Vallarta Botanical Garden founder Robert Price is pleased to announce that Jeremy Taylor will be joining the VBG as their new Executive Director.
