Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – During his Friday morning press conference from Puerto Vallarta, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador promised to complete the Guadalajara-Puerto Vallarta-Tepic highway before the end of his administration.
“We are going to finish the highway from Vallarta to Guadalajara and from Vallarta to Tepic. Work is already underway and the distance and time [between them] are going to be greatly shortened; There are three sections that are being built. We are also working in Vallarta for urban planning because there was anarchy in urban development,” he said.
Regarding the construction of the Federation bridge, he commented that they are analyzing the authorization of resources to carry out the work.
Federation attended damages due to the rains: López Obrador
Although the Government of Jalisco criticized the lack of federal resources to address the effects left by Hurricane Nora and severe rains recorded last year in the Entity, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) asserted that His administration allocated 1,230,000,000 pesos to attend to these damages, while the state government contributed 458 million pesos.
During Friday’s press conference in Puerto Vallarta, the president detailed a report presented by the National Civil Protection Coordination, which reported the attention during three events registered in 2021, which refers to resources for reconstruction work in 27 municipalities affected by severe rains, floods and strong winds.
“We do not leave any people without support when there are hurricanes or other misfortunes, starting with the fact that the first to arrive are the sailors or the soldiers. It is not possible for a people, a region or a State to be affected and not provide help as much as possible. It’s called reconstruction in Jalisco,” he said.
López Obrador explained that only in the case of Hurricane Nora they allocated 367.96 million pesos, of which 80.18 million were for roads, 16.16 million for educational facilities, 188.65 million to rehabilitate hydraulic facilities, 64.62 million for the naval sector and, for fishing and aquaculture tasks, 18.35 million pesos. Additionally, to attend to state infrastructure, the Federation allocated 246.7 million pesos.
