At 3:00 am CDT on Sunday, slow-moving Hurricane Orlene evolved into a Category 4 hurricane located 195 km south-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, and moving north at 7 km/h. A Hurricane Warning is in effect for the Pacific coast of Mexico from San Blas to Mazatlan. A Hurricane Watch is in effect from Playa Perula to San Blas.
At 10:00 am CDT, Tropical Storm Orlene evolved into a Category 1 hurricane located 340 km south-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, and moving north at 7 km/h. A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for the Pacific coast from Playa Perula to San Blas. Orlene is expected to pass just west of Puerto Vallarta from 7 pm Sunday to 7 am Monday.
As of 4:00 pm on Friday, September 30, Tropical Storm Orlene was displaying maximum sustained winds of 100 km/h and was located 445 km south-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco. It is expected to strengthen to a category 1 hurricane early Saturday morning as it approaches the Mexican coast and continues to move northwestward.
Wyndham is opening another new all-inclusive resort in Mexico. The Wyndham Alltra Riviera Nayarit resort, which is scheduled to open on October 10, 2022, has 229 rooms in a family-friendly beachfront setting on Mexico’s Pacific coast, just north of Puerto Vallarta.

This time, the quake's epicenter was off the coast of Colima, in the municipality of Tecomán. The aftershock shook the Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas region. Many citizens felt the earth tremble despite the early hour.
Residents and tourists were 'shaken up' on Monday afternoon after an earthquake 59 km south of Coalcomán, Michoacán, shook Puerto Vallarta. Ironically, this happened less than an hour after the city participated in a national earthquake drill commemorating the September 19 quakes in Mexico City (1985) and Puebla (2017).
