Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – European travelers seeking a warm escape from the freezing winter months will soon have a direct gateway to the Mexican Pacific. Starting December 17, 2026, LOT Polish Airlines will launch a weekly charter flight connecting Katowice International Airport in southern Poland directly to Puerto Vallarta.
Operating every Thursday through March 18, 2027, the route uses a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with capacity for around 300 passengers, bringing roughly 1,200 Polish visitors to the Banderas Bay region each month.
To lay the groundwork for the new route, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust teamed up with tour operator Rainbow Tours for an intensive promotional roadshow across Poland. Travel representatives visited Katowice, Wroclaw, and Lódz, leading five detailed training seminars for 630 local travel advisors.
Because Puerto Vallarta remains a relatively undiscovered destination for many Polish vacationers, these sessions gave agents the product knowledge and confidence needed to pitch the coastal destination to clients booking their winter getaways.
Hotel partners joined the promotional tour to showcase the city’s diverse lodging scene, including representatives from Buenaventura Grand, Hacienda Buenaventura, Krystal Puerto Vallarta, Krystal Grand, and The Hacienda at Krystal Grand. Together, they highlighted package deals that bundle round-trip airfare, ground transfers, and seven-night stays with tailored local excursions.
Beyond sunny beaches and an internationally acclaimed food scene, the vacation packages introduce visitors to the rich culture and many outdoor adventures in Puerto Vallarta. Travelers can book city cultural tours, seasonal whale-watching trips, or boat rides out to secluded spots like Majahuitas and Yelapa. For thrill-seekers, the Sierra Madre mountains offer off-road rides, zip-lining, and a chance to cross the Jorullo Bridge – the world’s longest vehicular suspension bridge.
Packages also feature day trips into the heart of Jalisco’s heritage, with visits to the historic mountain town of San Sebastián del Oeste, the agave fields of Tequila, and the ancient circular pyramids of Guachimontones.
This direct connection not only opens an accessible path for Polish tourists looking for winter relief, but it also marks a significant step forward in diversifying Puerto Vallarta’s European tourism market.
