San Pancho, Nayarit, Mexico – As another season comes to a close at Entreamigos in San Pancho, the community center is celebrating months filled with learning, creativity, environmental action, cultural activities, and shared experiences. From educational programs and workshops to fundraising events and community traditions, the past season created opportunities for hundreds of children, young people, and families.
Throughout the year, Entreamigos brought people together through a wide range of activities. The calendar included the library fundraising campaign and annual auction, holiday celebrations, food baskets for families, traditional Day of the Dead and Revolution Day parades, the Annual Scavenger Hunt, the 10th Environmental Fair, the XII Literary Week, and the organization’s traditional Summer Workshops.
Each event served a different purpose, but together they reflected Entreamigos’ commitment to education, creativity, environmental responsibility, and community development.
The organization emphasized that none of these activities would be possible without the people who contribute their time, resources, skills, and support. Volunteers, donors, teachers, workshop leaders, community partners, and friends all played an important role in making all of the Entreamigos programs possible.
Summer Workshops Welcomed 185 Participants
The Summer Workshops provided a strong conclusion to the season. Held from July 27 through August 7, the program welcomed 185 children and teenagers between the ages of 3 and 15.
Participants explored different subjects and activities designed to encourage creativity, curiosity, learning, and community connection. Workshops were held at Entreamigos and other locations throughout San Pancho, giving young participants opportunities to discover new interests while spending time with their peers.
The program also gave workshop leaders a chance to share their knowledge, creativity, and enthusiasm. Entreamigos recognized the leaders, donors, and community members whose contributions helped make the two-week experience possible.
Tim Barton Takes on the Leadville 100
While the season may be ending, another Entreamigos supporter is preparing for an extraordinary challenge.
This August, Tim Barton will return to the Leadville Trail 100, a demanding 100-mile (160-kilometer) ultramarathon through Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. The race features more than 4,500 meters (14,700 feet) of elevation gain.
Barton has completed the race twice before and will take on the course again with a fundraising goal for Entreamigos, a community center that has become an important part of his life in San Pancho.
Every mile Barton completes will help support programs focused on education, scholarships, the arts, environmental initiatives, and community development. Supporters can make a direct donation to Entreamigos or pledge an amount for every mile he finishes.

San Pancho Recycling Efforts Continue
Environmental responsibility also remained an important part of the community center’s work during the summer. In July and August alone, 800 kilograms of plastic have been collected and sent for recycling through the Entreamigos Recycling Program.
The program depends on residents and visitors separating recyclable materials and placing them in the appropriate containers. Each bottle, container, and piece of plastic that is properly sorted helps reduce waste and supports ongoing efforts to care for the local environment.
The results demonstrate how individual actions can contribute to meaningful community-wide progress.
As Entreamigos closes another season, the organization is recognizing the many people who helped make the past several months possible. Their combined efforts supported opportunities for young people, strengthened environmental initiatives, and created spaces for neighbors and families to learn and connect.
The non-profit now looks ahead to another season, with plans to continue building opportunities centered on education, creativity, environmental care, and community.
