Entreamigos Reopens for 20th Season in San Pancho

San Pancho, Nayarit – What began 20 years ago as a simple gathering around a kitchen table in the middle of a street has grown into something truly special in San Pancho. Today, Entreamigos is a welcoming community hub housed in a state-of-the-art facility known for its sustainable design. Inside, you’ll find a library, recycling center, computer lab, thrift store, gift shop, and a wide variety of educational workshops and activities.

After a summer break, Entreamigos reopened its doors on October 12, ready to begin a very special season celebrating 20 years of bringing local families, students, and neighbors together.

The center is open to the public Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Residents and visitors are welcome to stop by, explore its resources, take a class, or share their own skills and talents. This anniversary year is a chance to celebrate everyone who has helped Entreamigos grow over the past two decades, including its dedicated staff, volunteers, donors, and sponsors.

There’s plenty to look forward to this fall, starting with the Ashoka LATAM Gathering, taking place October 28-30. Organized in partnership with Ashoka Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, with support from Fundación MetLife, the gathering will bring together educators, community leaders, and changemakers from around the world. Together, they’ll explore new approaches to education and sustainability and discuss ways to create lasting, positive change.

Entreamigos is also looking to recognize local people who are making a difference in San Pancho. Nominations are open through October 15, so if you know someone who goes above and beyond for the community, here’s your chance to give them a little recognition. The celebrations continue on Tuesday, November 17, with Entreamigos’ 20th Anniversary Celebration and annual fundraising auction, beginning at 6:00 pm. Community members can join in person or online to celebrate the center’s history and help support the work still ahead. Those interested in donating items, services, or special experiences for the auction can contact Alba Maya at +52 332-348-2148 or email alba(at)entreamigos.org.

One of the most important parts of Entreamigos’ work is its scholarship program, which helps local young people pursue their education regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. The program goes beyond tuition, covering essentials such as uniforms, shoes, school supplies, and transportation. Students also receive access to emotional intelligence classes, while their families can participate in workshops. And because learning doesn’t stop in the classroom, scholarship recipients enjoy free access to all of the center’s programs.

As more families seek support, Entreamigos is reaching beyond San Pancho into neighboring communities. This season, the program is welcoming 18 new students, helping even more young people work toward their goals.

Annual scholarships are available for $700 USD for primary and high school students and $2,500 USD for university students. For anyone interested in helping a student get the education and support they need to succeed, more information is available on the Entreamigos website.

Located at Av.
