Nearly 200,000 Tourists Celebrate Easter in Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The director of Municipal Tourism, José Ludvig Estrada Virgen, reported on Friday that the number of tourists visiting Puerto Vallarta for the Easter holidays is ‘over the top,’ indicating that nearly 200,000 visitors had already arrived, filling up hotels and condominiums, Airbnb rental rooms and family and friends’ houses.

“Puerto Vallarta today is already completely full, we have had a large influx of tourism, cruise ships have also arrived… you can see people on the Malecón, the beaches, enjoying the beauty of the place,” he said.

He stressed that this year has been quite good for the tourist destination, saying “after two years of it not being possible to go on vacation due to sanitary restrictions, fortunately today the city is at 100%, without neglecting the quality of the services they receive.”

He reported that hotels, timeshares, and condominiums together account for 25,000 rooms in Puerto Vallarta:

“Let’s multiply them by four, because now they come with family, we are talking about about 100,000, but there are many who come stay with friends and family, or rent apartments or rooms through Airbnb, we are talking about about 200,000 extra people in Vallarta these days.”

The municipal official also highlighted the visit of two large cruise ships last Thursday.
