New Direct Flight Connects Prague to Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Starting this October and running through April 2025, a new seasonal charter service will connect Prague, Czech Republic, with Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Operated by German tourism company DER Touristik, the weekly flights aim to attract travelers from Central Europe, including neighboring countries like Germany, Poland, Slovakia, and Austria.

The Airbus A350 flights, with a capacity of 432 passengers, are expected to bring over 10,000 tourists to Puerto Vallarta and surrounding areas during the six-month season. This collaboration between DER Touristik and 13 hotels in Puerto Vallarta and one in Nayarit caters to European visitors seeking cultural immersion, natural beauty, and sunny beaches.

This new route signifies an expansion of Puerto Vallarta’s international connectivity. Cryshtian José Amador Lizardi, director of the Puerto Vallarta Airport, emphasized the airport’s ongoing infrastructure enhancements to accommodate increasing passenger traffic.

“The Puerto Vallarta International Airport is prepared to meet the growth derived from the link between influential international destinations and our city. During 2023, more than 6.7 million passengers transited through our Airport; In the first quarter of 2024 alone we have a traffic of 2.1 million passengers, which represents a growth of 5% compared to the same period in 2023. At GAP we continue working on top-level infrastructure to promote the growth plan in the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, satisfying the important international demand that we have,” said Amador Lizardi.

Presently, Puerto Vallarta boasts 51 national and international routes. In 2023, it expanded air connectivity with flights to various destinations, including Abbotsford, Guadalajara, Los Angeles, Culiacán, Toronto, Calgary, Kitchener-Waterloo, Las Vegas, Prince George, and recently, Mexico City’s Felipe Ángeles International Airport.

DER Touristik’s decision to launch this route aligns with their broader strategy of offering direct flights to attractive, long-haul destinations. This expansion comes after a successful year with high passenger occupancy on their existing exotic destination flights.
