Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The skies between Canada and Mexico are set to get busier this winter as Porter Airlines expands its nonstop service to Puerto Vallarta with new routes from Toronto, Ottawa and Hamilton.
The additional flights will give travelers across Ontario more convenient options for reaching one of Mexico’s most popular Pacific coast destinations during the winter travel season.
The first new route begins November 14, when Porter will launch three-times-weekly service between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Puerto Vallarta. Two additional routes will follow in December, with twice-weekly flights from Ottawa beginning December 13 and twice-weekly service from Hamilton starting December 18.
The expansion is part of Porter’s growing network of warm-weather destinations, which also includes new service to Cancún, Nassau and Liberia, Costa Rica.
For Canadian travelers, Puerto Vallarta offers more than an escape from the cold. The destination combines golden Pacific beaches with the Sierra Madre mountains, a historic downtown, a scenic waterfront and a strong Mexican cultural identity. Visitors can enjoy the comforts of a major resort destination while experiencing the food, traditions and character of a coastal Mexican city.
The flights will be operated on Porter’s Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which seats 132 passengers in a two-by-two configuration. With no middle seats, the aircraft is designed to provide a more comfortable economy-class experience. Passengers will also receive complimentary snacks, beer and wine served in glassware, along with free onboard Wi-Fi.
The timing of the expansion comes as Canadian travelers begin looking ahead to the winter season. With flights from Toronto beginning in mid-November and Ottawa and Hamilton service following in December, travelers will have additional opportunities to plan a direct trip to Puerto Vallarta as colder weather arrives in Ontario.
For Puerto Vallarta and Jalisco, the expanded service provides another boost to an important international tourism market. Canada has long been a key source of visitors to the region, and stronger air connectivity can help introduce even more travelers to the destination.
Porter’s latest expansion reflects continued demand for convenient, nonstop access to warm-weather destinations. For travelers in Ontario, it means more choices. For Puerto Vallarta, it creates more opportunities to welcome Canadian visitors to its beaches, mountains, culture and Pacific coast this winter.
