President López Obrador to Visit Puerto Vallarta on Friday

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – During his Wednesday morning press conference in Mexico City, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that on Friday he will be in Puerto Vallarta, where he will give La Mañanera (his daily press conference) and discuss security issues in the greater metropolitan area of Jalisco – Nayarit.

President López Obrador said that this weekend will be dedicated to that region of the Mexican Pacific, where the security cabinet will meet to analyze security issues in this area.

According to the latest National Survey of Urban Public Security by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, the perception of insecurity has grown by 55.3 percent in important tourist places in the country.

In the case of Puerto Vallarta, the perception of insecurity grew from 26.4 percent to 41 percent from the first to the second quarter of 2022.

“We want to hold a security meeting in this region of Jalisco, bordering Nayarit (…) from there I will start a tour of the entire Nayarit coast and we will be in the state of Nayarit to discuss various issues,” the President said on Wednesday.
