Puerto Vallarta Among Mexico’s Top 5 Vacation Destinations

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Despite the adverse situation due to the worldwide pandemic, travel agencies such as PriceTravel Holding and Despegar place Puerto Vallarta among Mexico’s Top 5 Vacation Destinations, and recent studies show that it will maintain good results in 2022.

PriceTravel Holding says that, based on searches in recent weeks, Puerto Vallarta is one of the most sought-after destinations on its platform, and associates the city’s desirability with the fact that here you can enjoy “pleasant days of sun and beach, stay in hotels of great exclusivity and enjoy unique experiences in contact with nature, culture and Mexican tradition.

And, just last November, Vallarta received PriceTravel’s EVM award for “Best Beach Destination Promotion Campaign 2021,” a recognition that lauds the best in the tourism industry.

For its part, Despegar highlighted that Puerto Vallarta is one of the national destinations that has had the most searched for trips during 2022, and highlights the natural beauty of its beaches and the contrast between the Sierra Madre Occidental and its architecture that preserves the essence of a typical Mexican town.

Fidetur recalls that in 2021 the Puerto Vallarta International Airport received a total of 20,542 flights from around the world, which is reflected in the 924,300 Mexican tourists and 1,135,700 international travelers that arrived last year.

According to information from the Tourism Trust, 2021 was a year of tourism recovery, achieving an average of 56.29% hotel occupancy, with December (76.54%), November (74.45%) and July (72.62%) being the best months for the destination in terms of visitor reception.

In addition, in the midst of a pandemic, Puerto Vallarta continues to renew itself so that it remains a preferred tourist destination for travelers from all over the world. For this month of January, the city’s air terminal will welcome an estimated 2,385 flights, which reflects a significant recovery compared to the 2,130 arrivals in 2019, prior to the pandemic.

For this reason, and for the safety of tourists and the people of Vallarta alike, sanitary protocols have been intensified throughout the city to ensure a safe and memorable vacation.
