Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The 2026–2027 Vallarta ArtWalk season officially kicks off on October 28, 2026, marking another exciting chapter in one of Puerto Vallarta’s most enduring cultural traditions. Running every Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 10:00 pm through May 26, 2027, the weekly celebration brings sixteen participating galleries in the historic center together for a citywide showcase of fine art.
Rooted in a creative history that began expanding in the 1970s, the event traces back to early days along the Malecón and Old Town Puerto Vallarta. What started as local craftsmen and visiting painters turning their homes into working studios, painting murals with open doors, and gathering over informal conversations has grown into the structured yet open celebration enjoyed today.
This season’s Art Walk invites both residents and international visitors to discover a remarkable range of creations from prominent national and international talent. Throughout the night, art lovers can browse exceptional paintings, intricate sculptures, and fine ceramics. Beyond viewing the collections, attendees have direct opportunities to meet the featured creators, making each gallery visit an engaging social exchange alongside a cultural outing.
Designed as a self-guided experience, the tour offers complete freedom with no admission charges, registration, or designated starting point. Visitors can design their own path, spending as much time as they like at any location along the route. Because all participating venues lie within Puerto Vallarta’s downtown core, moving from one space to the next serves as a leisurely evening stroll through the historic district.
To assist with planning, free event brochures featuring detailed gallery profiles and map routes are distributed across local hotels, businesses, and art spaces. Digital maps and updated schedule details are also available online through VallartaArtWalk.com.
Whether you are looking to build your art collection or simply spend an evening discovering downtown, Puerto Vallarta’s Centro Historico Art Walk offers an accessible way to explore the region’s creative side.
