Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Wins Five 2022 Travvy Awards

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The 8th annual Travvy Awards took place on November 3 at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina in Florida, and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico won in five of the six categories for which it was nominated. Also known as the “Academy Awards” of the travel industry, the Travvy Awards recognize the best in tourism worldwide.

Vallarta won the awards for “Best Culinary Destination in Mexico” (silver trophy), “Best Tourist Office” (bronze trophy), “Best Destination in Mexico” (bronze trophy), “Best Wedding Destination” (bronze trophy) and “Best Honeymoon Destination” (bronze trophy).

Puerto Vallarta has established itself as one of the world’s most recognized tourist destinations. At the 2021 Travvy Awards, which took place in Miami, Florida, Puerto Vallarta took home three gold statues: for Best Culinary Destination, Best Honeymoon Destination and Best Tourism Board; and the silver for Best Destination in Mexico.

This year, the number of nominations for Puerto Vallarta increased in comparison to previous years, reflecting the great positioning the tourist destination has with the many specialists of the industry, who are key to bringing visitors to the port city.

The Travvy Awards, produced by TravelPulse and AGENTatHOME, recognize the top industry suppliers: destinations, hotels, cruise lines, airlines, tour operators, and more, as decided by those who know them best.

Luis Villaseñor, the director of the Puerto Vallarta Trust for Tourism Promotion and Publicity, received the awards during the gala.

“It is a great honor to represent Puerto Vallarta in these important awards of the tourism industry, being so exciting that the destination has managed to win in most of the categories where it was nominated, demonstrating the transcendence of this city within the international markets, for our diverse gastronomy, the great variety of scenarios for weddings and honeymoons, among an endless number of other benefits that make our port unique,” declared Luis Villaseñor.
