Puerto Vallarta has once again gained international recognition for its culinary excellence, with two local restaurants earning honors in the 2026 Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards, one of the most respected distinctions in the global restaurant and wine industry.
The annual awards recognize restaurants that demonstrate exceptional wine program management, high standards of service, and a commitment to creating memorable dining experiences. This year, more than 4,000 restaurants across 87 countries and territories were recognized for the quality of their wine offerings.
Among the Puerto Vallarta establishments receiving the Award of Excellence were La Corona, the signature restaurant at Villa Premiere Boutique Hotel & Romantic Getaway, and Café des Artistes Puerto Vallarta.
La Corona was recognized for its thoughtfully curated wine list, featuring selections carefully chosen to complement the restaurant’s cuisine while appealing to a broad range of wine enthusiasts. The award highlights the restaurant’s dedication to pairing quality wines with an elevated dining experience.

Café des Artistes Puerto Vallarta also received the Award of Excellence for its extensive collection of wines from renowned regions in Mexico, California, France, Argentina, and Chile. The restaurant’s carefully selected labels continue to enhance its reputation as one of the city’s premier fine dining destinations.
The recognition extended beyond Puerto Vallarta to Guadalajara, where La Mantequería and Roothouse were also honored. Both restaurants are known for their strong wine programs, with a particular focus on Mexican wines and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
According to Wine Spectator, today’s consumers are increasingly seeking quality over quantity, exploring emerging wine regions, looking for better value, and showing greater interest in sustainable production practices. The awarded restaurants have successfully adapted to these evolving preferences while maintaining high standards of excellence.
The inclusion of restaurants from Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara on this prestigious international list further strengthens Jalisco’s reputation as one of Mexico’s leading gastronomic destinations. It also reflects the region’s ongoing commitment to innovation, hospitality, and world-class culinary experiences that continue to attract visitors from around the globe.
