Puerto Vallarta Strengthens U.S. Tourism Connections

Puerto Vallarta continues to strengthen its presence in key U.S. tourism markets through targeted outreach to travel professionals. The destination recently participated in Global Travel Marketplace (GTM) West 2026 in Palm Springs, California, an invitation-only event designed to connect leading travel advisors with international tourism suppliers.

The boutique-style event brought together destinations, airlines, cruise lines, hotels, destination management companies and tour operators with some of North America’s top-producing travel advisors. Attendees are selected through a screening process, creating opportunities for suppliers to build relationships with professionals who have strong influence in the travel market.

During the event, Puerto Vallarta held 50 individual business meetings with travel advisors from California, Texas, Utah, Colorado and Washington. These states are important source markets for the destination, making the meetings an opportunity to present the latest information about Puerto Vallarta and encourage future bookings.

The destination’s promotional team highlighted recent updates to local infrastructure, accommodations, restaurants, events and visitor experiences. Advisors were also introduced to the online PV Specialist certification, which provides travel professionals with specialized knowledge to help them better promote and sell Puerto Vallarta.

Beyond the scheduled appointments, the event provided networking opportunities that allowed Puerto Vallarta representatives to connect with approximately 160 travel advisors. The destination also strengthened relationships with industry partners, including PriceAgencies, Delta Vacations and United Vacations, creating opportunities for future joint promotional efforts.

The networking in Palm Springs is also expected to support Puerto Vallarta in the upcoming “Jalisco is Mexico” promotional seminars in Austin, Dallas and Houston. The events, scheduled for later this month, will provide another opportunity to introduce travel professionals to tourism options across Jalisco.

Participation in GTM West forms part of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust’s ongoing promotional strategy in the United States. By maintaining regular contact with travel advisors, the destination can keep industry professionals informed about new developments while strengthening relationships in established and emerging markets.

Through a combination of one-on-one meetings, professional networking and destination education, Puerto Vallarta continues to position itself as a leading beach vacation destination on Mexico’s Pacific coast.
