Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Isabel Medina Acevedo is preparing to take Puerto Vallarta to the national stage after being presented earlier this week as Miss Intercontinental Jalisco 2026.
The 27-year-old social work graduate will represent Jalisco at the national Miss Intercontinental competition, scheduled for the end of October in Querétaro. A strong performance there could earn her a place in the international competition in Egypt.
For Isabel, the opportunity represents the pursuit of a long-held dream. She has built experience in modeling, public speaking, and content creation, while preparing herself for the demands of the competition.
She explained that the process has involved much more than physical preparation. Developing emotional strength, maintaining discipline, and presenting a polished image have all been important parts of getting ready for the national event.
“I am proud to be pursuing this dream,” Isabel said, adding that she hopes to use the competition to showcase what Puerto Vallarta has to offer.
“In this competition we are going to demonstrate the culture, the beauty and above all how much Vallarta has to offer; it has so much to offer,” she shared.
Councilwoman Laurel Carrillo Ventura, president of the City Council’s Culture and Cultural Rights Commission, expressed support for Isabel’s participation. She said the Municipal Government recognizes the value of projects that create opportunities for young people while helping promote Puerto Vallarta.
“This represents much more than a crown; it represents discipline, preparation, perseverance, and above all, the courage to dare to pursue a dream,” Carrillo Ventura said.
Runway coach Richard González said Isabel’s preparation also focuses on personal empowerment. He explained that one of her goals is to inspire other women to pursue their own ambitions by sharing what she has learned through her experiences.
With the national competition approaching, Isabel is continuing her preparation for the October event in Querétaro, where contestants will compete for the opportunity to advance to the international stage in Egypt.
Before then, the public will have an opportunity to celebrate her title. Her coronation ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, at 8:00 pm at the CECATI 63 auditorium. Admission will be free, and the evening will include a musical performance by pianist Salvatore Rodríguez.
