Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – A picture postcard setting, gourmet food, live entertainment and quality time spent with friends is what makes the annual FUNdraiser for Puerto Vallarta Animals, hosted by Casa Yvonneka owner Yvonne Kalman, one of the holiday season’s most popular events.
Four years ago, Yvonne decided to give the fundraiser a special theme, so she invited guests to dress as legendary Mexican artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera and enter a costume contest. The party was such a success that the ‘Frida’ theme has become an annual tradition that has added to the event’s popularity.
The fifth edition of this fabulous costume party with a cause, ‘Frida & Diego V,’ will be held on Saturday, December 7 at Casa Yvonneka, a luxurious villa with breathtaking views of Puerto Vallarta and Banderas Bay that provides the perfect setting for this very special evening of fun and friendship.
The party starts at 6:00 pm with a sunset cocktail in the star gazer lounge, where you’ll enjoy Live Music; an Open Bar serving signature Margaritas, vodka, wine, etc.; Hot and Cold Hors d’oeuvres, including Giant Shrimp Cocktail and Baked Brie; and lots of mingling with old and new friends.
Afterwards, party-goers will enjoy a gourmet dinner with their choice of Continental and Mexican specialties, along with wine and/or drinks from the open bar complemented by wonderful music and served on the pool terrace that offers magnificent views of Banderas Bay and the Guadalupe church.
This fabulous dinner will be followed by dancing under the stars, a live auction and a couple of raffles for fabulous prizes, the ‘Diego’ and ‘Frida’ costume contest, live entertainment, a few surprises, and a lot of fun until the wee hours.
A donation of $2200 pesos gets you a ticket to this all-inclusive and unforgettable evening under the stars. 100% of the event’s proceeds will go directly to various animal associations in the Banderas Bay area that save and care for neglected animals. Representatives of these non-profit organizations will attend the party and they’ll be happy to tell you all about their work to place Puerto Vallarta street animals in loving homes.
