Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The much-anticipated Surfcasting Vallarta Shore Fishing Tournament returns for its seventh year, promising a fun-filled day of competition and camaraderie for fishing enthusiasts. Held on Puerto Vallarta’s iconic Malecón Beach, the tournament offers a chance to test your skills and win exciting prizes.
Registration costs $500 pesos and is now open! Sign up by sending a WhatsApp message to 322-200-7944 or in person by attending the opening reception at the beginning of the Malecón extension (near the bridge over the Rio Cuale) from 3-8 pm on Saturday, May 4. The first 250 registrants will receive a commemorative tournament t-shirt, making a perfect memento for this exciting event.
On the day of the tournament (Sunday, May 5th), all pre-registered participants must check in at 5:00 am at the Los Arcos del Malecón amphitheater. The competition kicks off at 6:00 am sharp.
Participants can cast their lines all along the shoreline from the Malecón Beach (in front of McDonald’s) down to Restaurante Cuates y Cuetes on Playa de los Muertos (just north of the pier), while vying to catch the heaviest fish. There will be no fish category this year, so all species, except for the manta ray and other protected or endangered fish, are eligible to win.
The excitement doesn’t stop there! The top three anglers will walk away with phenomenal prizes. The champion wins a whopping 70,000 MXN, while the second and third-place winners take home 20,000 MXN and 10,000 MXN respectively.
But that’s not all! This year’s tournament raffle offers a great prize – a thrilling fishing boat trip for one lucky participant! The event will also be graced by the presence of renowned YouTubers Jorge Acosta, Josema Nieblas, and Snook Mafia, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
