For June 2023, the total number of terminal passengers at GAP’s 12 Mexican airports increased by 12.3%, compared to the same period in 2022. Guadalajara, Tijuana, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta presented an increase in passenger traffic of 20.6%, 10.9%, 7.4%, and 0.6% respectively, compared to June 2022.
Remittances to Mexico reached a new monthly record of just under $5.7 billion in May, although the strength of the Mexican peso in recent weeks and months is softening the impact of money sent home by workers living abroad. AMLO recently announced that construction of the highway that will provide a shortcut between Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara will be completed by March 2024. Once completed, this highway will shorten travel time to 2 hours and 45 minutes.

The first Mexican woman to set foot in space, Jalisco native Katya Echazarreta, will lead the first space camp to ever be held in Mexico this summer. Called 'Mission to Mars 2023', the aerospace camp will take place in Guadalajara from July 10 to August 4 and will allow up to 100 young people to learn about robotics, science and technology.
