February 5th is Mexican Constitution Day, commemorating the day the Constitución Política de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos was signed in 1917. Nowadays, the official observance is on the first Monday in February, which in 2021 is on the 1st, so everyone can enjoy a long weekend.

Mexico Population Rises to 126M

Mexico's just-completed census puts the country's population at 126 million people, and finds it a bit older, better educated and more connected to the internet, officials announced Monday. The every-decade census carried out last year raised the total count from 114 million in 2010.

Carlos Slim Another Victim of Covid

Mexican workers in the U.S. sent a record $36.9 billion home in the first 11 months of 2020. According to data released by the Bank of Mexico, remittances rose 11% through November 2020, compared to the same period in 2019, and eclipsed the record $36.4 billion sent in all of 2019.

Covid-19 Tests Required to Enter US

The U.S. government will require all international airline passengers to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test before boarding flights to the country, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday. The order will go into effect on January 26, 2021.

Mexico Plans USMCA Logistics Center
