Celebrate Mexican Music with the Vallarta Symphony Orchestra

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Celebrate the works of talented Mexican women composers with the Orquesta Sinfonica Vallarta! Puerto Vallarta’s beloved community orchestra will bring Música Mexicana to life on July 5th and 6th.

This special two-day concert series, featuring a captivating program of contemporary Mexican female compositions, is presented by the Instituto de Artes Musicales Puerto Vallarta), a pillar of Puerto Vallarta’s cultural scene.

On Friday, July 5th, the performance begins at 8:00 pm in the Auditorio Haramara Hotel Escuela at the Universidad Tecnologia de Bahia de Banderas. On Saturday, July 6th, the performance moves to the Juan Luis Cifuentes Lemus auditorium at the Centro Universitario de la Costa (CUCosta), University of Guadalajara (UdeG), starting at 7:00 pm.

Adding a touch of brilliance to the event is the guest harpist and composer, Cristy de la Rosa. She will enthrall the audience with a solo performance of her own creation, “Suite para arpa jarocha y orchestra.” The program also features the world premiere of a unique interdisciplinary work titled “Inestables” by the young composer Diego Jiménez. This innovative piece seamlessly blends orchestral music with a projected short film.

Rounding out the program are captivating selections by Eliezer Alejandro, including “Danzón 2” and “Escenas de Ixtacamaxtitlán,” performed by the Vallarta Symphony Orchestra.

IAMPV (Instituto de Artes Musicales Puerto Vallarta) is a non-profit educational music institute whose mission is to bring the joy of music to children and young adults in the greater Banderas Bay area.
