Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Vallarta’s Jewish community is set to celebrate the Festival of Lights, Chanukah, from December 25th to January 1st. This joyous occasion will be marked by a series of events across the Bay of Banderas, filled with laughter, song, games, and delicious food.
In the spirit of giving, the Chabad of Puerto Vallarta community is also organizing a food drive to benefit two local nonprofits: Vallarta Cares and the Salvation Army. Canned goods can be donated at various locations until December 24th, including:
Vidanta Golf and Vidanta Marina, Nima Bay and Unas Salon in Marina Vallarta; Los Altos in 5 de Diciembre; Peninsula in the Hotel Zone; Orchid and Paramount Bay in Conchas Chinas; Galeria Kris K in El Centro; Café Bohemia in the Romantic Zone and The Chabad House at 1951 Av. Francisco Medina Ascencio
Vallarta Cares, formerly known as the Vallarta Food Bank, has expanded its mission to provide comprehensive support to the community. Beyond food assistance, they now offer essential services such as medical and dental care, hygiene facilities, educational programs, and disaster relief.
The Salvation Army of Puerto Vallarta, located in the underserved neighborhood of Mojaneras, is dedicated to serving the local population. Their ongoing programs include daily meals for over 60 underprivileged children.
By participating in this food drive, the Jewish community aims to help those in need and strengthen the bonds between different cultures and faiths.
