Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The 3rd annual Cocktail Duel, a nationwide bartending competition, announced its Puerto Vallarta stop for the exciting semifinals. This year’s theme, inspired by the world of lucha libre (wrestling), will see 32 bartenders from 16 Mexican states, Los Angeles, and Colombia compete to create the most innovative and captivating cocktails.
The competition prioritizes “promoting the professionalization of bartenders and elevating the art of mixology,” according Vallarta Specialized Bartenders Association president, Mario Mendoza.
The journey kicked off with an inaugural party in Nuevo Nayarit on February 29th, followed by elimination rounds in Jalisco. The top four contenders will then square off in the grand finale to be held in Oaxaca. The champion will be rewarded with a European tour courtesy of the prestigious ’50 Best Bars’.
The Puerto Vallarta semifinals, slated for April 16th, promise to be a vibrant spectacle. Attendees, both industry professionals and the general public, can expect to enjoy sponsor samples, live music, and potentially even a live lucha libre show. This event offers a unique opportunity to witness bartenders showcase their creativity, talent, and passion for the craft.
