Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas has unveiled its May 2026 lineup, offering U.S. citizens in the region a series of welcoming gatherings focused on community connection, civic engagement, and voter support.
The month kicks off with a morning gathering on May 5 at Langostinos, an iconic palapa-style restaurant situated on Playa de los Muertos in Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone. From 9:00 to 11:00 am, attendees can enjoy breakfast or coffee with their feet in the sand while participating in lively conversations.
This beachside meetup serves as a dedicated safe space for sharing ideas and receiving the latest updates on “Take Action” initiatives and resistance activities. Volunteers will also be available to answer specific questions regarding voter registration and the ballot request process, making it an ideal stop for those looking to combine civic engagement with a relaxed morning atmosphere.

Later in the month, the focus shifts toward direct voter support with two dedicated “Get Out the Vote” sessions in Bucerías. On Wednesday, May 13, and Wednesday, May 27, assistants will be stationed at Restaurante Miguel Ángel in Bucerías Plaza.
These events focus on helping Americans abroad navigate the voting process, including registering to vote and requesting absentee ballots. Trained volunteers will be on hand to provide one-on-one support, making participation in U.S. elections more accessible from overseas.
While regular Vote From Abroad Center operations in Puerto Vallarta are paused for May, assistance remains available by appointment. Voters who need help can reach out via email to arrange individualized support, with in-person services expected to resume in June.
The month’s schedule concludes with a spirited evening social on Thursday, May 21, at The Goalie Sports Bar. Located right on the central park in Bucerías, this event runs from 4:30 to 6:30 pm and offers a more casual setting for fellowship and camaraderie. It is an excellent chance to catch up with friends, meet fellow expats, and stay current on community news over a drink.
Through these events, Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas continues to provide opportunities for connection, information sharing, and civic participation for Americans living in the region.
To help organizers prepare for these gatherings, interested individuals are encouraged to RSVP through the official Democrats Abroad website.
