Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas November Gatherings

Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas November Gatherings

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Following a long and often exhausting election season, Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas is looking ahead to November with renewed hope and a commitment to strengthening community connections. The group has planned two opportunities for members and others to come together in Puerto Vallarta: a morning coffee gathering on Election Day and an evening social later in the month.

The first event, Coffee on the Beach, will take place Tuesday, November 3, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Langostinos, located right on the beach in the Zona Romantica. Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy coffee, conversation, and the company of fellow Democrats Abroad members and friends. RSVP here.

Since November 3 is Election Day in the United States, voter information and assistance will be available for anyone who needs it. Attendees can also enjoy the beautiful Banderas Bay setting, with the possibility of spotting whales in the water.

Although Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas will not host a formal Election Night gathering, several local establishments plan to show results as they come in. Nacho Daddy, at Basilio Badillo 287, and Café Bohemia, at Rodolfo Gómez 127, both in Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romántica, will broadcast live election coverage. Results will also be available through CNN on cable television, as well as ABC News Live and the PBS NewsHour YouTube channel.

The group’s second November gathering will be its Evening Social on Thursday, November 19, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Tuk Tuk’s, a popular Asian restaurant in Colonia Versalles. Located at Morelia 137, between Highway 200 and Francisco Villa Avenue, the restaurant will provide a relaxed setting for an afternoon of conversation, friendship, and refreshments. RSVP here.

DACB members are looking forward to celebrating the election results, although they recognize that the final picture may not be clear immediately. They point to the 2018 U.S. midterm elections as a reminder that early election-night projections do not always tell the whole story. Although initial coverage suggested a weaker-than-expected Democratic showing, the party ultimately gained 40 seats in the House of Representatives as additional votes were counted in the weeks that followed.

Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas welcomes everyone interested in participating in either gathering. As a reminder of the importance of staying connected during challenging political times, organizers share a message from law professor and Civil Discourse host Joyce Vance: “We are in this together.”

Paid for by the Costa Banderas Chapter of Democrats Abroad.
