San Pancho, Nayarit, Mexico – As summer approaches, Entreamigos is preparing for one of its busiest seasons, welcoming more than 150 children from July 27 to August 7 for two weeks of learning, creativity, and recreation through nearly 70 workshops covering art, science, sports, cooking, music, and other hands-on activities.
To keep the program affordable for local families, the nonprofit is raising funds to cover the cost of materials, instructors, meals, logistics, and daily operations. A donation of $50 USD helps sponsor one child’s participation, ensuring that financial circumstances do not prevent children from taking part in the summer experience.

Entreamigos also announced new support for its Tech Center through funding from Travel Elevates, the organization that helped establish the community space. The grant will expand the “Digital Horizons” initiative, offering additional workshops in digital literacy, coding, audiovisual production, multimedia creativity, and digital entrepreneurship for children, youth, and local entrepreneurs. The program aims to strengthen technology skills that support educational and economic opportunities in San Pancho.
The organization recently recognized students from Universidad Iberoamericana Torreón who completed service-learning placements in psychology, marketing, communication, and industrial design. During their time in San Pancho, the students led educational activities, documented community life through video, and helped design new play spaces, contributing fresh ideas and valuable support.

Entreamigos also celebrated the conclusion of another successful school year with scholarship recipients. Middle and high school students enjoyed a day at Bosque de las Hadas, while elementary students marked the occasion with a beach outing filled with games, reflection, and friendship. The celebrations highlighted the importance of emotional learning and community support in helping young people grow with confidence.
Looking ahead, the non-profit organization continues to seek donations and scholarship sponsors to expand educational opportunities for more students during the coming school year.

International collaboration also remained a focus this summer. During June, students from the University of Colorado Boulder spent three weeks in San Pancho learning about Mexican culture, education, and community development. Their visit included work with local schools and organizations, environmental activities, cultural experiences, and collaborative art projects alongside local children, creating meaningful exchanges for everyone involved.
Later this year, Entreamigos will host Ashoka LATAM’s annual gathering, bringing together education leaders, nonprofit organizations, government representatives, and foundations from across Latin America. Scheduled for October, the event will feature workshops and discussions with educators from Nayarit and Jalisco, reinforcing San Pancho’s growing reputation as a center for educational innovation and community collaboration.
Entreamigos depends on the support of its friends to maintain its doors open and its programs flourishing, continuing to provide hope, learning, and opportunity for all in San Pancho.
