Puerto Vallarta’s smallest feathered residents will take center stage this July as the Vallarta Botanical Garden welcomes visitors to its annual Hummingbird Weekend, a two-day celebration of nature, conservation, and creativity.

Taking place Saturday and Sunday, July 4-5, from 9 am to 3 pm, the event invites guests of all ages to discover the remarkable world of hummingbirds through interactive activities, guided experiences, and family-friendly entertainment in one of Mexico’s most beautiful natural settings.

Often called “flying jewels” for their dazzling colors and incredible agility, hummingbirds play an essential role in pollinating native plants and maintaining healthy ecosystems. Throughout the weekend, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about these extraordinary birds while exploring the Garden’s lush landscapes.

The festival features guided hummingbird walks and photo safaris, giving birdwatchers and photographers the chance to observe and capture these tiny aerial acrobats in their natural habitat. Knowledgeable guides will share fascinating facts about hummingbird behavior, migration, and the important role they play in preserving biodiversity.

Creative minds can take part in a variety of interactive workshops designed for both children and adults. Participants will create hummingbird-inspired crafts while learning more about the species that call the region home. Additional exhibits, educational displays, and family activities will ensure there’s something for every visitor to enjoy.

All activities are included with regular Garden admission. However, workshop participation is limited, and guests are encouraged to register on the day of the event at the Salón de las Flores to reserve their place.

As an added bonus, Mexican nationals can enjoy a special 2-for-1 admission offer by presenting a valid official identification.

Whether you’re an avid birdwatcher, an aspiring photographer, an art enthusiast, or simply looking for an unforgettable family outing, Hummingbird Weekend offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature while supporting environmental education and wildlife conservation.

The celebration showcases the Vallarta Botanical Garden’s ongoing commitment to protecting the region’s rich biodiversity and inspiring visitors to appreciate the remarkable creatures that make Mexico’s tropical forests so special. Spending the weekend surrounded by colorful hummingbirds, beautiful gardens, and engaging activities promises an experience that is both enjoyable and educational for visitors of every age.
