March 27 Update: Keenan’s show at La Cantina has been extended through April 10th. He will also be performing a Double Headliner comedy show with Alex Hooper at The Palm Cabaret on Wednesday, April 13, at 6 pm.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Keenan Steiner, who started his career as a stand up comedian in New York in 2015, has brought his raw, quick, and above-all refreshing style to Mexico, where he’s been touring the country doing shows in English. In 2021, he also started performing shows in Spanish, headlining the well-known Woko Comedy Club in Mexico City in 2022.
A former news reporter, Keenan found a love of improv comedy in his 20s, and then took a chance on a mic near a pool table at a Brooklyn dive bar in 2015. He realized that he was much more suited for stand up, and committed full on from there.
Keenan appeared in the New York Comedy Festival in 2017 and brought his first hour to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019. Around that time, his jokes also appeared on SiriusXM radio. In the next couple years, he was accepted to many festivals, including The Cream City Comedy Festival, Charm City Comedy Festival, Jersey City Comedy Festival, 5th Borough Comedy Festival and Midwest Queer Comedy Festival.
The show, Gringo With Questions, is an illuminating ride of jokes, act-outs, and characters about, on the one hand, coming out of the closet “late” in the life, and on the other, what it’s like being a Gringo “out of water” in Mexico. With side-splitting punch lines, audience interaction, Keenan explores Dark, Twisted Jokes, Dating, Sex. Identity, Jewish Stuff. Family, and more!

You can experience Keenan Steiner in Gringo With Questions Saturdays and Sundays in March only at La Catrina Cantina. Doors open at 7 pm with the show at 7:30 pm.
