Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta is preparing to welcome visitors and residents for its first-ever Latin Fest Diversity Week, a three-day celebration that will combine live entertainment, cultural activities, and community engagement while reinforcing the city’s reputation as one of Mexico’s leading LGBTQ+ travel destinations.
Taking place from July 30 through August 1, the festival is promoted by the Government of Jalisco through the State Entertainment Agency, in coordination with the administration of Mayor Luis Munguía and the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust. The event is supported by state funding and will bring a full schedule of free public concerts, drag performances, discussion panels, and recreational activities to the heart of the Romantic Zone.
Festival organizers say the event is designed to celebrate diversity while encouraging tourism and supporting local businesses during the summer season. Along with visitors from across Mexico and abroad, residents will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of entertainment and cultural experiences throughout the three-day program.
Among the featured performers are Christian Chávez, Taiga Brava, María Daniela y su Sonido Lasser, and internationally recognized drag performers Manila Luzon and Latrice Royale, known for their appearances on RuPaul’s Drag Race. The festival will also include live music, drag shows, the “Voices of Pride” discussion panels, a Just Dance tournament, and interactive activities for attendees of all ages.
Festivities begin on Thursday, July 30, with Latin Trivia and the Pups & Furs Party at Play Room Video Bar. The evening program on the Zona Romántica Stage will feature the Altamar Gala from the musical Mentiras, performances by Manila Luzon and Latrice Royale, a concert by María Daniela y su Sonido Lasser, and a spectacular headline show featuring Taiga Brava, Mariana BO, and Christian Chávez.
On Friday, July 31, the festival continues with the “Voices of Pride” panel discussions in the central courtyard of Puerto Vallarta City Hall, including a special presentation of Valiente by Valeria Vera. Later in the day, participants can compete in the Grand Just Dance Tournament before the third edition of “Voices of Pride” takes place at Domósfera Puerto Vallarta that evening.
The celebration concludes on Saturday, August 1, with a Beach & Pool Party featuring DJ Deanne at Mantamar Beach Club, followed by a Pokémon Lotería event at Play Room Video Bar.
Puerto Vallarta secured the opportunity to host the festival through the efforts of the city’s Sub-Directorate of Sexual Diversity, led by Carlos Plascencia. The destination was selected over other municipalities in Jalisco because of its tourism infrastructure, welcoming atmosphere, and longstanding recognition as one of Mexico’s premier LGBTQ+ vacation destinations.
The State Entertainment Agency will oversee festival production, programming, logistics, and operations, while various municipal departments will provide local coordination to ensure the event runs smoothly. Officials expect Latin Fest Diversity Week to strengthen Puerto Vallarta’s entertainment offerings while generating additional economic activity for hotels, restaurants, shops, and other local businesses during the summer travel season.
