Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – The immersive Domósfera installed in Puerto Vallarta for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will continue welcoming visitors after the tournament concludes, as the Government of Jalisco plans to expand its use with a diverse calendar of cultural events.
Although the World Cup ends with the championship match on July 19, and two concerts are still scheduled at the venue this month, Jalisco Secretary of Tourism Michelle Fridman Hirsch announced that officials intend to keep the Domósfera operating for as long as resources and the location remain available.

The geodesic structure, the first immersive dome of its kind in Latin America and the third largest in the world, stands 14 meters tall and measures 27 meters in diameter. Its 360-degree projection system surrounds audiences with panoramic visuals, creating a one-of-a-kind audiovisual experience.
Fridman Hirsch explained that while maintaining a permanent installation of this scale is not financially feasible, the state wants to maximize the investment already made by transforming the venue into an ongoing cultural attraction.
Plans include partnerships with Filma Jalisco to present movies and documentaries inside the dome, along with concerts and other special events designed to appeal to both residents and visitors. Officials hope the expanded programming will keep the venue active well beyond the World Cup, offering new reasons for people to visit throughout the year.
Located between Puerto Vallarta’s Hotel Zone and downtown, the Domósfera occupies a strategic site that naturally connects two of the city’s busiest tourism districts. Fridman Hirsch said the goal is to make full use of the temporary space by hosting as many activities as possible while it remains available.
The new programming is expected to strengthen Puerto Vallarta’s cultural and tourism offerings while preserving one of the World Cup’s most memorable attractions. By extending the life of the immersive venue, Jalisco aims to create a lasting legacy that continues to benefit the destination long after the final whistle.
