Puerto Vallarta’s Los Mangos Library and Cultural Center is continuing its 30th anniversary festivities with the Ninth Edition of Celebración de las Letras (Celebration of Letters Festival), a community event dedicated to encouraging reading and bringing people together through literature, education, and the arts.
Running November 5–7, the festival offers a variety of activities for readers and visitors of all ages. The program includes informative talks, poetry readings and contests, book presentations, workshops, and children’s theater, providing opportunities for the community to discover new authors, share ideas, and enjoy the written word.
The highlight of this year’s celebration will take place at 7:00 pm on Saturday, November 7, when the Vallarta Symphony Orchestra takes the stage for the festival’s closing concert. The orchestra will be joined by choirs from Puerto Vallarta, Bucerías, and Cruz de Huanacaxtle, all participating in the Poder Coral initiative. Under the direction of Aquiles Morales, the combined performers will present an evening of music celebrating the region’s artistic talent.
General admission to the concert is 300 pesos, while students and INAPAM cardholders can attend for 200 pesos.
Beyond the scheduled performances and literary presentations, visitors can browse book sales featuring several publishers, take part in a book exchange, and enjoy additional activities throughout the festival. Admission to all other festival activities is free.
The celebration also offers an opportunity to support an organization that has served the greater Banderas Bay community for three decades. Los Mangos Library is a nonprofit cultural and educational center that provides value, inspiration, training, and opportunities to people of different ages, backgrounds, and nationalities.
Purchases and donations made during the festival help support its ongoing programs and community services, allowing the library to continue its work as an important cultural resource in the region.
With three days devoted to books, creativity, and shared experiences, the Ninth Celebration of Letters will conclude on a high note. Saturday evening’s concert promises a memorable gathering of local musicians and singers, bringing the library’s literary celebration to a fitting close.
