Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Sometimes the best stories begin with an invitation that leaves little to the imagination. MiMi Bomba recalls an unexpected evening at The Palm Cabaret, where a birthday celebration, an unfamiliar companion, and a show with a very revealing title provided plenty of entertainment – and eventually, a lesson about taking people at their word.
A few years ago I was with a group of friends and someone I had not met before announced that it was his birthday and he wanted to go see Naked Boys Singing at The Palm. “Me too!” I said.
I don’t know exactly what I expected because, after all, it was right there in the title.
The show opened with six cute little butts facing the crowd. Then they turned around and Full Monty! The birthday boy (no pun intended) said, “I didn’t expect that”. Me neither. We both agreed that we were happy that we were sitting in the back of the theater. An older lady had walked to the front earlier and I could only wonder what that must have been like for her.
Anyway, after the initial reveals, it all seemed pretty normal. We got used to it, and it was a great show. They were naked and they were singing, as advertised.
The moral of this story is when someone tells you who they are, believe them. That didn’t happen with a lot of people a few years ago, but the Blue Tsunami in the US has given me new hope! Clearly, the “emperor” has no clothes, but he is not singing now!

Hasta luego,
