Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – For many, the Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra’s holiday concerts have become an annual tradition since the ensemble’s inception in 2005. The orchestra, which began as a small group of friends who gathered to play chamber music together, has grown into a 50-piece ensemble that delights audiences year after year.
Last year’s Holiday Concert was cancelled due to the pandemic, but the Orquesta Sinfonica Vallarta (OSV – previously named the Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra) is very happy to announce that the Christmas Concert will return this year – outdoors and safely spaced – at the University of Guadalajara Estacion Gourmet on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 7:00 pm.
Under the direction of Conductor Daniel Oliveros, and featuring guest soloist Philip Brezina playing Accolay Violin Concerto No. 1, the concert will include beautiful selection of holiday music, including Christmas favorites by Irving Berlin and Leroy Anderson and selections from Tchaikovsky’s Nurcracker Suite.
Strict Covid protocol measures are being observed. All orchestra members have been fully vaccinated and are required to wear masks at rehearsals (except when necessary to blow into an instrument). Guests are asked to stay masked throughout the performance. Pizza and wine will be available for purchase.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, December 11, 2021 so you won’t miss an incredible evening of Christmas music to benefit IAMPV, a non-profit educational music institute whose mission is to bring the joy of music to children and young adults in the greater Banderas Bay area.
The University of Guadalajara’s Estacion Gourmet is located on Francisco Villa near the corner of the Libramiento in Puerto Vallarta.
