Puerto Vallarta Gears Up for Safe 2024 Easter Holiday

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – As Semana Santa approaches, Puerto Vallarta authorities are ramping up efforts to ensure a safe and secure holiday period for both residents and visitors. A recent coordination meeting solidified an operation plan running from March 23rd to April 7th, with a particular focus on religious activities and peak tourist influx expected between March 28th and 31st.

The plan encompasses a broad spectrum of areas. From the bustling beaches and entry roads to tranquil towns, mountainous regions, rivers, and hiking trails, authorities aim to maintain a watchful eye. To address any potential risk situations swiftly and effectively, a team of 76 emergency responders will be deployed. Their expertise spans operations, risk management, water rescue, and pre-hospital care. Additionally, 23 strategically positioned vehicles will facilitate rapid response throughout the region.

Lifeguard personnel patrolling the beaches, stretching from Boca de Tomates to Boca de Tomatlán, will prioritize preventative measures. This includes providing pre-hospital care, searching for lost minors, and inspecting event security measures to minimize risks.

This operation exemplifies a commitment to inter-agency collaboration. Civil Protection and Firefighters from both Puerto Vallarta and Jalisco will work hand-in-hand with Public Security, Traffic, Roads, and Inspection and Regulations departments.

Meanwhile, Municipal Public Services will deploy around 500 workers equipped with dedicated vehicles to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, lighting, and park upkeep in beaches, tourist areas, the downtown area, and various neighborhoods throughout the holiday period. The Red Cross and Ángeles Verdes have also pledged their support to address any emergencies that may arise on the roads or within the city.

Through this comprehensive plan and collaborative effort, Puerto Vallarta authorities aim to create a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone during the upcoming Holy Week and Easter holiday celebrations.
