Puerto Vallarta Receives Four 2026 Travvy Award Nominations

Puerto Vallarta is once again in the international spotlight after earning four nominations for the 2026 Travvy Awards, one of the travel industry’s highest honors. The recognition reflects the destination’s continued appeal to travelers and the collaborative efforts of the local tourism sector to deliver exceptional visitor experiences.

Often referred to as the “Academy Awards of the travel industry,” the Travvy Awards recognize excellence among destinations, hotels, airlines, cruise lines, tour operators, and tourism organizations. Nominees are selected by the editorial teams of TravelPulse and AGENTatHOME Magazine, with the winners chosen by thousands of travel advisors across the United States.

Puerto Vallarta is nominated this year in four categories: Best Destination in Mexico, Best Culinary Destination in Mexico, Best Tourism Office in Mexico, and Best Academic Program for Travel Agents.

The city’s nomination for Best Destination in Mexico comes after back-to-back victories in 2024 and 2025. Puerto Vallarta continues to attract visitors with its scenic Pacific coastline, authentic Mexican charm, outdoor adventures, and broad selection of cultural, recreational, and entertainment experiences.

Its culinary reputation also remains one of its greatest strengths. From traditional Jalisco specialties and fresh seafood to innovative fine dining, Puerto Vallarta’s diverse restaurant scene has earned international recognition. Annual events such as Restaurant Week, Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica, and the International Gourmet Festival continue to showcase the area’s talented chefs and world-class cuisine, helping the destination secure the Best Culinary Destination title in each of the past two years.

The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust is also seeking a fourth consecutive Travvy Award as Best Tourism Office in Mexico. The organization has been recognized for its successful marketing campaigns, strong partnerships with travel professionals, and ongoing efforts to promote the destination in key international markets.

Completing this year’s nominations is PV Pro, Puerto Vallarta’s complimentary training program for travel advisors in the United States and Canada. Through online courses, webinars, workshops, and educational visits, the program equips travel professionals with in-depth knowledge of the destination, making it easier for them to match visitors with the experiences that best fit their interests.

The four nominations underscore the combined efforts of local hotels, restaurants, tour operators, service providers, and business organizations that work alongside the Tourism Trust to strengthen Puerto Vallarta’s position as one of Mexico’s premier vacation destinations.

The 12th annual Travvy Awards ceremony will take place on November 5 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Voting is now open to U.S. travel advisors, with the winners to be announced during the gala and later featured in TravelPulse and AGENTatHOME Magazine.

After earning top honors in several categories over the past three years, Puerto Vallarta will once again look to build on its remarkable success when this year’s winners are revealed.
