Puerto Vallarta Strengthens Position as Top LGBTQ+ Destination

Puerto Vallarta has long been a leading LGBTQ+ beach destination in Mexico. This is attributed to a significant LGBTQ+ business community that caters specifically to this market. Business owners within the community understand the needs and desires of LGBTQ+ travelers, resulting in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

One such addition is The Tryst Puerto Vallarta, a boutique hotel opening this spring. Designed not only for luxury hospitality but also as a hub for mingling with the local gay community, the hotel plans to host drag brunches and DJ parties on its rooftop.

Tristan Schukraft, the director of the hotel chain, expressed hopes for visitors to forge lasting friendships or even find romance, given its location in the renowned Romantic Zone.

The 55-room resort, crafted by Estudio Esterlina, offers inclusive experiences with various room options, including a penthouse suite and grand suites, all boasting a mix of minimalism, modernism, and Mexican flair. The opening coincides with Puerto Vallarta’s gay pride celebrations at the end of May.

Puerto Vallarta Ranked Among Top LGBTQ+ Cities

Misterb&b, the world’s largest LGBTQ+ travel community, recently ranked Puerto Vallarta among the top ten most LGBTQ+ friendly cities globally. Data analysts used statistics from their one million registered users to create the ranking. Puerto Vallarta, along with San Diego, is the only beach destination on the list, highlighting its reputation for safety and inclusivity.

“Puerto Vallarta is not only welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community, but it also boasts numerous spaces and events created specifically for them,” said Luis Villaseñor, director of the city’s Tourism Trust. These offerings include a designated “Gayborhood,” an Entertainment District, and Vallarta Pride, one of the most significant Pride events in the Americas.

Scheduled from May 22-26, Vallarta Pride 2024 promises a vibrant celebration with parades, festivals, dinners, parties, and art exhibitions, culminating in a colorful and inclusive race. The event aligns with Puerto Vallarta’s recognition as the Beach Destination of the Year at the LGBTQ+ Travel Awards Mexico 2023.

The hotel coincides its debut with Vallarta Pride, one of the biggest Pride celebrations in Mexico, offering guests a luxurious stay amidst the vibrant festivities.
