Puerto Vallarta to Welcome More Cruise Ships this Fall

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – In addition to the Carnival Panorama, which has already called on Puerto Vallarta five times this season and will continue to arrive once a week for the remainder of 2021, several other cruise lines are preparing for their return to the Mexican Riviera, with itineraries that include stops in Los Cabos, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.

Celebrity Cruises has now joined the list of cruise lines that will visit the destination this Fall. The Celebrity Millennium is scheduled to call on Puerto Vallarta from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm on September 27. This will be the first of 10 weekly Mexican Riviera cruises scheduled for this ship during the fall months.

Holland America returns to Vallarta on October 11, as part of a 21-Day Panama Canal cruise aboard the Nieuw Amsterdam, the second largest ship in its fleet. Other Holland America cruises on the Fall/Winter itinerary are the Koningsdam, which will arrive in Puerto Vallarta on October 21, and the Zuiderdam, which will call on our port on January 5, 2022, as part of a 14-day Panama Canal cruise.

The Nieuw Amsterdam will be followed by Princess Cruise Line’s Majestic Princess, which departs from Los Angeles on October 16 with stops in Cabo San Lucas on the 18, Mazatlan on the 19th, and Puerto Vallarta on the 20th. These 7-night Mexican Riviera cruises will be offered on a regular basis through April 2022.

Norwegian will resume cruises on this route starting October 24, with the huge Norwegian Bliss, which is also based in Los Angeles and would arrive in Puerto Vallarta on Wednesday the 27th for a nine-hour stay. These 7-night cruises will be offered on a regular basis through April 2022.

Puerto Vallarta relies heavily on the tourism brought by cruise ships, which brings thousands of tourists during the cruise season, and generates significant economic benefits for the locals. However, while ashore, cruisers should keep in mind that face masks are mandatory in all public spaces, including stores, shopping malls, markets, and on public transportation.

All Puerto Vallarta beaches are open, but it is recommended that every beachgoer maintain appropriate social distancing. In addition, frequent hand washing and/or the use of hand sanitizer is strongly encouraged, and groups should be limited to a maximum of eight people.

It is worth mentioning that the State of Jalisco has earned the World Travels and Tourism Council’s Safe Travels Stamp for adhering to all hygiene protocols to protect the health of visitors. This means that cruise ship passengers who wish to explore Puerto Vallarta can rest assured that health and disinfection measures are being performed rigorously at the cruise terminal and all other public places.
