Revolution Weekend Puts Vallarta on Track for Record-Breaking Year

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta continued its streak of tourism success over the recent Mexican Revolution holiday weekend. The destination welcomed approximately 32,000 visitors, achieving an impressive 83.4% hotel occupancy rate, surpassing pre-holiday projections of 81.9%.

This bustling activity was fueled by a diverse calendar of events, including the 29th International Gourmet Festival, and the 19th National Day of the Botanical Gardens. Sports enthusiasts enjoyed the 4th Burden Race, the 11th Pacific Games Puerto Vallarta, the Vista Vallarta Golf Club Tournament, the Cruce Vallarta open water swimming competition, and the 68th Puerto Vallarta International Fishing Tournament.

Luis Villaseñor, from the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust, noted: “The destination is consolidated as the leader in occupancy during long weekends and vacation periods, since, in addition to its countless natural charms and exquisite gastronomic offering, it has a full agenda of cultural and sporting events that make it even more attractive for its visitors.”

Nestled along the Pacific Ocean in the serene waters of Banderas Bay and framed by the lush Sierra Madre Occidental, Puerto Vallarta offers a diverse range of experiences. With more than 50 outdoor activities spanning beaches, mountains, and tropical rainforests, it caters to adventure seekers and relaxation enthusiasts alike.

The city blends traditional Mexican charm with modern amenities, boasting an international airport, a maritime terminal, a convention center, four world-class golf courses, and over 26,000 hotel rooms for all budgets. Its wide-ranging dining scene features over 2,000 restaurants offering 40 unique cuisines, making it a global culinary hotspot.

As Puerto Vallarta continues to attract accolades – including recognition as the friendliest city in the world and Mexico’s most LGBTQ+ friendly destination – it is well on its way to breaking more records in 2024, following its historic success in 2023. Whether for a quick holiday or an extended stay, Puerto Vallarta remains a beacon of natural beauty, cultural richness, and warm hospitality.
