Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Clean, reliable tap water is finally on its way to more families in Puerto Vallarta. Under the direction of Carlos Ruiz and backed by Mayor Luis Munguía, SEAPAL Vallarta has officially launched a new project to expand the local drinking water network into underserved pockets of the La Trinidad neighborhood. Once finished, the effort will connect 40 residents who have gone without direct access to the municipal water supply.
To bring the service to these homes, work crews are laying 468 linear meters of new two-inch and three-inch pipeline through several neighborhood streets. While a large portion of La Trinidad already benefits from running water, these specific blocks were previously left out as the surrounding infrastructure grew. By filling in these long-standing gaps and connecting missing loops in the system, the water utility is moving the area much closer to complete, neighborhood-wide coverage.
The project officially kicked off with a community meeting, where local families gathered – even in the middle of a steady rain – to speak directly with SEAPAL representatives about the upcoming construction. Yolanda Cuevas Cortés, Deputy Director of User Services, joined the gathering to discuss how the project will unfold and address local questions.
Cuevas Cortés pointed out that listening directly to residents and closing essential service gaps remain top priorities for the current city administration, noting that access to clean water will make a immediate difference in the daily lives of these families.
As crews begin digging trenches and placing pipe, the project stands as a practical step forward in making sure basic public services reach every corner of the community.
